Linear Action clamps are designed to apply a clamping force either directly toward or away from the surface they are mounted to. They are primarily used to either draw two objects together, or to push or pull one object up against another.

Hook Type Clamps utilize a hook style drawbar to apply a clamping force back towards the clamp base.
